Clinique

Rule of Thirds
Exposure Mode Night Shot
Aperture 2.7
Shutter Speed 1/30
This photo was taken to show the different ways to see the rule of thirds in one picture. The three women in this photo help to break up the picture plane even though their heads are close together. We can also see that the open space at the top and then the people in the middle and then the solid table at the bottom also help to break up the space of the photo into the rule of thirds.

  1. Element: Color
    Principle: Balance

Again it looks like fun! It such a happy picture with lots of color :) The balance in the picture is nice but I wish the sides were cropped in a bit so there wouldn't be so much space between the edge of the photograph and the people on the sides, especially on the left.

  2. i see repetition in the background. i also see that rule of thirds is there. but what would happen if you did an extreme crop of these ladies? maybe just headshots/shouldershots? i think rule of thirds would be definitely stronger that way. try an slight unsharp mask on this, it may look a little less fuzzy that way.

good use of space with the mirror in the booth
